Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Friuli DOC Grave
An ancient Friuli grape, the Refosco is the native red of this region par excellence. Having nearly always been around, its name was also used incorrectly, to identify prized plants in the Friulan wine-making world.
A grape of reference for the production of Friuli red wines, over time the best types have been selected, to offer the vineyard-owner the most characteristic varieties.
Tasting Notes
Our Red Refosco dal Peduncolo has an intense ruby red colour with purplish glints. It has a nose of red fruits such as blueberry, cherry, blackcurrant with a slight note of vanilla, all of them very inviting. To the palate it shows its full nobility, with structure and tannins, while being elegant and non-invasive, with well-balanced fruity notes accompanied by a fresh acidity.
On tasting it is immediately apparent that, because of its savouriness and personality, that it is a wine which is able to satisfy people who want a wine without compromise or standardisation, a wine that is not commercial and is full of original sensations: in a few words, it is the true product of the land that grew it.

When to drink
It is a wine that traditionally goes extremely well with game dishes, such as pheasant, capercaillie, woodcock, hare, wild boar, venison and roebuck.
As well as with traditional Friulan dishes, it goes very well with "musét", a large pork sausage, both boiled or baked in the oven.
