VIGNERON
When you spend your childhood playing hide-and-seek among wine vats and use piles of pomace as if they were a swimming pool, it’s easy for your world to become wine. And, since my career as a basketball player ended well before reaching the NBA, I understood from a young age that my future would be tied to the family winery. Over time, I realized that, beyond technical skills — essential, of course — it is motivation and passion in what you do that truly make the difference. And for this reason, neither I nor my collaborators settle for anything less than the very best. Thanks to this vision, I am proud to say that all the people who work with us are now among the best in their field.
Role in the company
I have been a full-time member of the estate since 2010. I am responsible for overseeing the production area — both in the cellar and in the vineyard — and for managing the sales network of our bottled wines. What I am most passionate about, however, is working on development and growth projects: seeing the company evolve, improve, and take on new challenges.
Favorite wine
My favorite white wine is Traminer, while among reds I prefer Pinot Noir. But the wine closest to my heart is undoubtedly Ribolla Gialla. It is a native Friulian grape variety that is gaining increasingly positive recognition, both in the market and throughout the production chain. It is helping to bring Friuli back to the glory days of the 1980s and 1990s, when Tocai and Friulian Pinot Grigio were benchmarks for Italian white wines.
