A noble grape variety of French origin, its fame is closely tied to the history of the great wines of Bordeaux, where it is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Friuli, this grape—rooted in the territory since the time of Napoleon—has been enhanced by its varietal characteristics and the soil and climate conditions of our lands, establishing itself as a wine in its own right: independent, with unique features within the global panorama of Cabernet Franc.

Tasting notes
Our Cabernet Franc presents itself as “typically Friulian,” with a ruby red color and intense violet reflections, flowing smoothly in the glass.
On the nose, it offers sensations ranging from red fruits such as cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry, to spices like marjoram, rhubarb, gentian root, and white pepper, with enveloping, fresh, and decisive notes.
On the palate, it is pleasantly fresh and not heavy, with aromas that are echoed in the taste, enhanced by a soft sensation given by its sweet tannins and fresh herbaceous notes—hallmarks of Cabernet Franc from our lands.
Pairings
In Friuli, Cabernet Franc is a red wine enjoyed during many convivial moments: from chatting with friends to a light snack with a simple plate of cured meats. This is precisely when the wine expresses itself best, thanks to its great ease of expression and its remarkable ability to pair perfectly with cured meats and cheeses, both fresh and medium-aged, from cow’s or goat’s milk.
