A noble grape variety of French origin, its fame is tied to the history of the great wines of Bordeaux, where it is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Friuli, this grape—rooted in the region since the time of Napoleon—has been enhanced by its varietal characteristics and the soil and climate conditions of our land, establishing itself as a wine in its own right: independent, with unique features within the global Cabernet Franc landscape.

Tasting notes
Our Cabernet Franc presents itself as “typically Friulian,” with a ruby red color and intense violet reflections, flowing smoothly in the glass. On the nose, it offers sensations ranging from red fruits such as cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry, to spices like marjoram, rhubarb, gentian root, and white pepper, with enveloping, fresh, and decisive notes. On the palate, it is pleasantly fresh and not heavy, with aromas that carry through to the taste, enhanced by a soft sensation given by its sweet tannins and fresh herbaceous notes—hallmarks of Cabernet Franc from our region.
Pairings
In Friuli, Cabernet Franc is the red wine traditionally enjoyed during various moments of conviviality: from casual conversations among friends to a simple snack with cured meats. This is precisely where the wine shines, thanks to its ease of expression and its remarkable ability to pair perfectly with cured meats and cheeses, both fresh and semi-aged, from cow’s and goat’s milk.
