An ancient grape variety from Friuli, Refosco is the quintessential native red of these lands. Present since ancient times, its name was also used—sometimes improperly—to identify high-quality vines within the Friulian wine landscape. A benchmark variety for the production of Friulian red wines, over time the best types have been selected to offer winemakers the most distinctive expression of this grape.

Our Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso presents itself with an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. On the nose, one can appreciate red fruits such as blueberry, cherry, and blackcurrant, with a light hint of vanilla, all very inviting. Pairings

A wine that traditionally pairs wonderfully with game dishes such as pheasant, capercaillie, woodcock, hare, wild boar, deer, and roe deer. It also pairs very well with traditional Friulian dishes, particularly “musét,” that is, pork cotechino, whether boiled or oven-cooked.
