Tasting notes
Our Cabernet Franc presents itself as “typically Friulian,” with a ruby red color and intense violet reflections, flowing smoothly in the glass. On the nose, it offers sensations ranging from red fruits such as cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry, to spices like marjoram, rhubarb, gentian root, and white pepper, with enveloping, fresh, and decisive notes. On the palate, it is pleasantly fresh and not heavy, with aromas that carry through to the taste, enhanced by a soft sensation given by its sweet tannins and fresh herbal notes—typical characteristics of Cabernet Franc from our lands.
Pairings
In Friuli, Cabernet Franc is the red wine traditionally enjoyed during many convivial moments: from chatting with friends to a light snack with a simple platter of cured meats. It is precisely in these contexts that this wine expresses itself best, thanks to its great ease of communication and its remarkable ability to pair perfectly with cured meats and cheeses, both fresh and semi-aged, from cow’s and goat’s milk.
