Friuli has always been a land of conquests and dominations. Certainly, one of the longest-lasting and most influential in shaping the region’s history was the Habsburg rule, under which Friuli experienced significant development in agriculture and winemaking. Traminer, a grape variety of Austro-German origin, was introduced to Friuli during the Austrian domination. It spread widely both in the hills and plains, thanks also to the vine’s natural resistance to disease and the high quality of the wine it produces.
Oriental aromas: rose petals, hibiscus, ginger, and black tea, with fresh citrus notes
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a golden color due to cold maceration, during which the must remains in contact with the skins for 48 hours at temperatures below 10°C. On the nose, it envelops you in an intense cloud of oriental aromas: rose petals, hibiscus, ginger, and black tea, accompanied in the background by fresh citrus notes. On the palate, it offers a play of flavors and sensations already perceived on the nose, finishing with a clean and dry close that invites another sip.
Pairings
It is an excellent aperitif. Its structure and natural softness make it particularly suitable for challenging pairings with slightly bitter notes, such as vegetable flans and risottos with artichokes or truffle, liver-based dishes, strong and blue cheeses, shellfish, almond or walnut cakes, and cantucci.
