Arriving in Friuli from France over a hundred years ago, this grape variety—derived from a bud mutation of Pinot Noir—found its ideal habitat in our lands. Its grapes offer emotions that are recognized and appreciated all over the world. Today, Pinot Grigio is the most widely cultivated variety in Friuli, so much so that it rightfully deserves the title of “Prince of Friuli.”
Notes of apple, ripe melon, powder, and toasted bread
Tasting notes
Our Pinot Grigio immediately presents itself, already in the glass, with its straw-yellow tones enhanced by coppery hues reminiscent of the color of its uniquely distinctive grapes. Its movement in the glass reflects a wine of importance, with good body. Bringing the glass to the nose, one is enveloped by sensations of apple, ripe melon, powdery notes, and toasted bread, accompanied by a freshness that invites tasting. On the palate, it is savory and structured: it never falters, maintaining consistency throughout. The aromas perceived on the nose echo on the palate, delivering fresh and highly pleasurable sensations, further highlighting—if needed—the great “fabric” (character) of this wine from our land.
Pairings
A wine that can accompany a wide variety of convivial occasions. Pinot Grigio takes center stage at the table with dishes such as gratinated shellfish, fish soups, and rich (“fatty”) baked or stewed fish.
